Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension (DLLE)

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension [DLLE] (known earlier as Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension) established on October 12, in the Year 1978 and has been recognized as a statutory department of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the universities and the community. The DLLE offers flexible continuing education opportunities for the people.

Our college is associated with the Department of Life Long Learning Extension, University of Mumbai from the Academic year 2015-16. Students enrolled in this department are motivated to take up the projects which give them the exposure to world outside four walls.

The working motto of DLLE is, ‘Reach to the Unreached’, to facilitate the sensitization of the student to the socio-cultural realities and to develop the entrepreneurship propensity within student through extension work projects.

The student is awarded ten additional marks at the final exam for a project on completion of 120 hours of work and the submission of a project report, which are undertaken by our college students.

Our mission is to maintain the voice of helping professional focused on serving college & to encourage students in developing entrepreneurship and leadership qualities.

Our goals include:

What are our projects and what we do:

Out of six projects offered by DLLE, University of Mumbai our college has undertaken following two projects

1. Anna Poorna Yojana (APY): It is career-oriented project. The moto of the project to taken is, to encourage the student to try their hand at entering the field of small-scale business. Under this project our student’s setup various stalls like Food stalls, Rakhi stall, Diya And Rangoli Stall in our college premises. Through this activity our students are learning creativity, planning, social skills and open mindedness towards leaning, people even failure. This project help students to become good entrepreneur.

2. Status of Women in Society (SWS): It is a community-oriented project. The moto of the project to taken SWS is, to sensitize on various social issues related to women and to find her status in different strata of society. Under these projects we have organised various activities like poster making, slogan writing, seminar, elocution, street play. Through these social activities we create social awareness about women in society among our students.

Every year our college DLLE students participate annual inter collegiate festival & UDAAN-The flight of Extension “organized by DLLE, University of Mumbai in poster making competition and street play competition.
